Use the sandbox with your eyes open.

A public guide to the current interface: choose data, build or discover a rule, inspect the historical evidence, and follow a compatible strategy virtually.

Start

PaperMantis is a free prediction-market sandbox. Sign in, choose a market and check its recorded UTC range before testing a rule. You do not need to connect a Polymarket account.

01

Pick a market

Choose asset, duration and recorded dates.

02

Test a rule

Configure one in Builder or search bounded combinations in Discover.

03

Inspect evidence

Read trades and time blocks before adding a compatible rule to Portfolio.

Builder

Choose entry conditions, direction, timing, UTC dates and a virtual starting bank. The stake can be a flat dollar amount or a percentage of available virtual cash at each entry; cash locked in open positions is excluded. Run the historical analysis, then inspect the chart and individual trades.

Replay animates an already computed historical result. It changes how you see the sequence, not the underlying evidence.

Discover

Pick a coin, market duration, UTC dates and optional bounds on the preset rule grid. Advanced bounds filter complete grid cells; they do not create arbitrary thresholds. Discover finds and ranks candidates on B1–B3. The later B4 check may reorder the displayed cards, but it never changes candidate selection or the original B1–B3 rank.

A positive total can hide a weak block. Read the full path, not only the first result card.

Results

The chart, P&L and trade list describe a historical simulation on recorded markets. Ask which dates were covered and which quotes the model used. A quoted ask does not guarantee the same real-world fill, and standard Discover results do not model fees, latency penalties or extra slippage.

Read the full methodology for the boundary between an observed quote and a real order.

Portfolio

Add a compatible rule as a frozen virtual strategy. Portfolio follows later markets with virtual money, keeping these trades separate from the backtest. You can review trades, adjust a fixed dollar stake for future entries, pause or archive a strategy. The percentage of a running line is frozen; copy its settings and start a new version to change it. Changing the underlying rule also requires a separate new analysis.

PaperMantis does not place real-money orders. Portfolio results are paper observations, not account returns.

Coverage & limits

Data availability depends on asset, duration and UTC date. A recorded series does not automatically mean it is eligible for every workflow. The app’s Data Coverage screen shows the latest published frozen dataset, its cutoff, series ranges and day-level market counts. It is not a live collector feed or an exact map of intraday gaps.

Learn how to read coverage and see the simulation assumptions.
